On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand new Indigenous Veterans Memorial. Charles “Snow Bear” Smith, Jr.

I am sad to share the news that the University of Rhode Island notified employees on June 9, 2020 that the W. Alton Jones Campus will be closing. No timetable for closure has been provided at this time.

RI Council 94 would like to commend Local 528 on its continued work in helping those in need in the community.

Local 528 recently held its annual Christmas Basket Raffle, which is held each year to benefit the Johnnycake Center located in Peacedale, RI. The goal of the Johnnycake Center is to help provide for those in need within the community with such things as food, clothing, financial assistance, various school supplies, and personal care and household items.

A message from Mary B. Riley, President of the Scott London/Chris Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund:

 This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Scott London/Chris Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund!  The main fundraiser is an annual golf tournament held on the first Monday of August.  This was the 18th year that the tournament was held at the Cranston Country Club and a total of six $4,000 scholarships were awarded.
