Local 314 Ukraine Charity

Council 94 would like to recognize Local 314 member Jackie Iasimone (Pictured below on the left), for her charitable work in putting together blankets for children impacted by the war in Ukraine. Sister Iasimone was able to rally the Rhode Island Training School community to her cause and received hundreds of dollars in donations as well as countless hours of volunteer work from family and friends.

The blankets, which were made by the RI Training School youth, will be donated to the Children’s Orphanage #2 in Lviv, Ukraine. The orphanage was established in 1947 after World War II for children who lost their families during the war. Within this establishment, medical and educational services are also available for the children. Currently, 85 children reside at the orphanage with ages ranging from 5 days old to 3 years old, as well as children with disabilities up to 4 years old. Since its opening in 1947, a total of 5315 children have resided in this orphanage.

Thank you Sister Iasimone for your selfless generosity to those in need
