A message from Mary B. Riley, President of the Scott London/Chris Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund:
This year marked the 19th annual London/Riley Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament. Due to COVID-19, the tournament looked a little different this year and some adjustments had to be made. The original date of August 3, 2020 was moved to October 5, 2020 to make sure that we were in full compliance with all the COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions set by the RI Department of Health. All social distancing guidelines were in place and the maximum limit for participants in the tournament was set at 72.
On behalf of myself and the Executive Board of the London/Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund, I want to say a great big THANK YOU to all the AFSCME locals and other unions who donated money to this year’s tournament. Thanks to your continued support we were able to give away four, $4,000 dollar scholarships this year. The recipients will be attending URI, Johnson & Wales University and Roger Williams University.
COVID-19 has truly affected fundraising for all non-profits this year, but thanks to all the continued union support, we had another very successful year. Thank you to everyone and stay healthy and safe!
